I Like Using My Own Natural Facial Cleansers

Even though there are some really good products out there that are made with natural ingredients, I prefer to make my own. When you make your own skin care products you know exactly what you are getting when you use it. When you go to make your own facial cleanser it’s a good idea if you know what your skin is like and what you are looking for. Do you want an astringent or looking for something that will exfoliate you skin. The ingredients you include in your cleanser will be able to do that.

Since we all have different types of skin, I have come up with natural things you can make for all types of skin and you can pick whichever one works best for your skin type.

Natural Facial Cleanser for Oily Skin

If you tend to have mostly oily skin then you’ll benefit from one that exfoliates. My personal favorite is  one where you use lemon juice and baking soda as a facial cleanser.

All you do is take one tablespoon of some baking soda and add lemon juice as needed. Just put in enough juice to make a paste and then gently rub it onto your skin and let it sit on your skin for a couple of minutes. Then just rinse it off with some warm water. This is an all natural skin care product that’s cheap and easy to make and is really good for acne skin care as well.

Another good homemade skin care treatment for oily skin is one where you just take an egg white and then add a few drops of lemon juice to it. Beat the egg white in a bowl until it’s frothy and then add a few drops of lemon juice. Apply this to your skin and leave it on for about 10 minutes and then wash off with warm water and apply your favorite moisturizer.

If you’re looking for an all natural skin toner here’s one I like to make and use. I just take and mix together equal parts of apple cider vinegar and water and then take a cotton ball and apply it to my face and it makes a great skin toner.

Natural Facial Cleanser for Sensitive or Dry Skin

When you have dry or sensitive skin, and some of us have it in certain parts where it’s not oily, I like to use a simple cleanser that can be made with milk and honey or yogurt and honey, that’s up to you. All you do is take a tablespoon of whole milk or some yogurt and mix it with a teaspoon of honey for milk and a tablespoon of honey if mixing it with yogurt. Just combine the two together and mix well, then put the mixture into a bottle and then dip the bottle into some hot water to warm up the mixture. After it’s warmed up just apply to your face and rinse with warm water.

You can follow up with a natural green tea toner. This is good for all types of skin but especially good for dry or sensitive skin. All I do is brew up some green tea and then put it in the refrigerator so it’s nice and cool. Then just take a cotton ball and dip it in the tea and then onto my face and leave it there, or you can rinse it off with warm water.

If you want to complete your natural face care routine I like adding a nice natural face mask like the one I like to make with aloe vera and cucumber. All you have to do is take two tablespoons of aloe gel and half of a cucumber. If you have an aloe plant that’s even better because all you have to do is cut open a couple of the leaves for the gel. Take the leaf and slit it down the middle and then use a spoon to scoop out the gel and then strain it through some gauze to get rid of any lumps there might be. Once you have enough gel then cut up a cucumber and put the pieces and the aloe gel into your blender and blend until it becomes a smooth paste. Then all you have to do is spread this paste onto your face and then let it remain there for thirty minutes. Wash with cold water and pat dry.

Natural Facial Cleansers for Combination Skin or Any Skin Type

These particular natural skin recipes will work well for any skin type. One of my favorites would be the oatmeal face mask. All you need is ¾ cup of oatmeal and 1/3 cup of warm water. Take the oatmeal and add warm water to it and add just enough water to make a nice paste. I like to add a little touch of warm honey to mine and then mix well and apply the paste to my face and then just let it dry. Once it’s totally dry you can wash it off with some warm water.

Oils can be great for using as facial cleansers, if you can believe that. But it is true. If you use them in the right combination they can clean and moisturize. For example castor oil cleans whereas olive oil is a moisturizer.  For example if you have normal skin or combination just take equal parts of castor oil mixed with equal parts of extra virgin olive oil, mix together and use as a natural cleanser and moisturizer. If you have oily skin then use a 3 to 1 ratio of castor oil to olive oil. For dry skin you would use a 3 to 1 ratio of olive oil to castor oil.

Once you’ve made your oil combination just rub a little bit onto the palms of your hands and then massage it into your skin on your face. Then I usually let it sit for about a minute and then dip a washcloth in some hot water and then apply the washcloth to my face until it cools down to about room temperature. This helps to clean and moisturize you skin, removes the dirt, bacterial and dead skin cells. And it feels great too. Then I just take the washcloth and get it moist again with warm water and rinse off my face.
