Women Skin Care

My Two Favorite Homemade Facial Cleansers

There are so many different things you can use for natural skin care you’d be amazed. Most of the time you will have a lot of the items already in your own kitchens. I’d like to share with you a few of my own homemade skin care products that I love to have on hand to use instead of soap.

This first one is extremely easy to make and use and is a great one to use as an anti-aging facial cleanser.

Lemon Facial Cleanser

1 tablespoon of plain natural yogurt

1 teaspoon of lemon juice

2 drops of essential lemon oil (can buy at any health food store)

Take all of the ingredients and mix them together. I then take a cotton ball and dip it into the mixture to first remove any makeup. Then all I do is repeat with more cotton balls until all my makeup is removed and my entire face is cleaned off. That’s all there is to it. Yes, the ingredients are just for a one time application but that’s because you can’t make larger amounts because it won’t keep well. So, the only drawback is that you only make it for when you want to use it. However, when you feel how wonderful your skin feels after using it, this small drawback will be nothing compared to the benefits you get from this facial cleanser.

This next one has just got to be one of my all time favorites. Not only is it easy to mix but it has honey in it and most people know by now all about the “magical” properties of honey. To begin with, honey is a natural humectant and this means that it absorbs and retains moisture in our skin. It also is a natural antioxidant and it helps to protect our skin from the damaging rays of the sun. Another thing that it does is absorb the impurities out of our pores so it makes the perfect cleansing agent.

Homemade Honey Cleanser

3 tablespoons of honey

½ cup of vegetable glycerine (can be found at health food stores)

2 tablespoons liquid castile soap (can be found at health food stores)

Mix all the items together and then apply it to your face and your neck and then massage it into your skin for about 30 seconds. Give it time to loosen the dirt and debris on your skin. Then just rinse with some warm water.

Another good one that I want to share with you is a good one made from tea.

Chamomile Facial Cleansesr

¼ cup of liquid castile soap (can buy online or at organic stores)

¼ cup of already brewed chamomile tea

¾ teaspoon any one of these carrier oils; grapeseed, sweet almond, hazelnut, olive, or avocado. (can be found at health food stores)

8 drops of your favorite essential oil

Several drops of vitamin E oil

Brew the chamomile tea and set it aside to cool off. Then take the rest of the ingredients and put them in a small bowl and combine well then add your tea once it’s cooled off. Mix all of the ingredients together. Once mixed pour the mixture into a small squirt bottle or even a pump bottle if you have one. Then make sure to label your bottle.

When you want to use it just take the bottle and squirt some of the facial cleanser on your hands or a washcloth and gently wash your face with it. Rinse your face well with some warm water.  You can follow up with a toner of your choice or your favorite moisturizer.

Well, I hope you will find these natural skin care products something you can use and will enjoy!
